Nestled in Panzhou's Xichong River Wetland of Guizhou, Fufeng Ruofeng Hotel takes "architecture in vanishing" as its core concept, transforming vertical terrain into spatial storytelling. The cantilevered structures with interwoven wooden shingles and blackened metal create rhythmic silhouettes mimicking forest canopies, allowing 12 villas to emerge organically from the mountainside. Indoors, artistic plaster walls emulate wind-carved rock textures, while rattan pendant lights cast bamboo grove-inspired shadows. A curated blend of crackling fireplaces and handwoven jute rugs establishes a "rustic sophistication" aesthetic. Through 147 days of fieldwork, the design team translated local tea culture, bamboo forests, and geological formations into spatial installations – notably, the lobby’s rammed-earth wall embedded with tea-leaf specimens transforms into a living ink-wash painting under shifting sunlight.

Fufeng Ruofeng Hotel redefines the paradigm of mountain retreats through design, achieving a delicate balance between reverence for nature and human-centric care. The project transforms the essence of Guizhou’s mountainous terrain into a sustainable hospitality aesthetic through three key innovations: vertical terrain storytelling, modular ecological construction, and a revolutionary family-friendly experience design. The interplay of raw, textured materials and smart systems, alongside the harmonious coexistence of viral-worthy scenes and local cultural elements, demonstrates the commercial potential of design-driven cultural tourism. This approach not only celebrates the region’s natural and cultural heritage but also sets a new benchmark for sustainable and experiential hospitality in the industry.
